Adolescent Girls Livelihood and Empowerment Program (AGLEP)

Young people face large scale, complex challenges to finding productive work and employment. In Tanzania young women  and girls, face disproportionately worse outcomes in education and health, They  are increasingly exposed to  SRHR information, products and services delivery challenges  and are  forced  to ‘’Trade sex for money’’   exposing  them  further  to earlier sexual debut, unintended pregnancies, unsafe abortion, earlier motherhood, maternal mortality and subjected  to hard life. Teenage  mothers  are further  subjected  difficult life   and un able  to care  for their   children, They  lack    resources, impact hugely on their social well being..

CVS-Tanzania works in the countries with the highest child marriage and teenage pregnancy rates. Adolescent girls are vulnerable, and the cost of not protecting them is high. Child marriage often prevents girls from continuing their education and realizing their full potential. Our goal is to empower young women and girls by unlocking their potential through education, life-skills, and livelihood opportunities. This enables them to fight unwanted social pressure and build healthier future for themselves.
