Young Women Livelihood Empowerment Program (YOWOLE-Program)

Young people particularly young women face complex challenges in finding productive work hence suffer from unemployment. They face disproportionately outcomes in education and health and increasingly exposed to sexual and reproductive health challenges through lack of information, products and services hence forcing them to engage into  ‘’Sex Trade for Money’’   exposing   them  further  to earlier sexual debut, unintended pregnancies, unsafe abortion, earlier motherhood, maternal mortality and subjected  to hard life. They lack resources which in turn impacts hugely on their social well being.

Therefore this is a sub program which empowers young women by unlocking their potential through education, life-skills and livelihood opportunities. This enables them to fight unwanted social pressures, build healthier future for themselves and become good models to others.

This program involves international students or professionals in Social work, community development and other related disciplines. They can be involved by collaborating with CVS Tanzania Team in empowering school dropout adolescent girls and young women who have missed direction and suffer from unemployment by providing them with various livelihood skills including clothes sewing and reusable sanitary pads production.

This program may take 8 weeks as per proposed specific projects/tasks below but can be less depending on the students/volunteers’ choice/schedules.
