Climbing Kilimanjaro is a lifelong dream for many people, But finding the right organization to plan your adventure can be a challenge in itself, CVS-Tanzania we know that climbing Kilimanjaro for charity is a great way of achieving a personal goal whilst bringing hope to “adolescent girls and young mothers in order to end period poverty” at the same time.
Girls in Tanzania face a myriad of Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) challenges, lack of information, products and services. They use hygienic materials cow dung, sisal fibers, sand and dry leaves to manage their menses during menstruation, schools lack sanitary disposal facilities.
CVS-Tanzania works in the country with the highest child marriage and teenage pregnancy rates. Adolescent girls are vulnerable, and the cost of not protecting them is high. Child marriage often prevents girls from continuing their education and realizing their full potential.
We coordinate international Nursing, Midwifery students and Healthcare Professional Exchange program, and Nursing and midwives student practicum, use them as volunteers health care and information services delivery personnel in our rural health facilities in Tanga region, Tanzania
